"Brilliant! My daughter loves them and hasn’t stopped looking at them since they arrived."
High frequency words are words that appear frequently in written texts. They are a mixture of words that your child can decode (sound out) like ‘can’ for example and tricky or exception words they cannot sound out like ‘was’. The aim is for your child to recognise these high frequency words and to be able to read them. It is really important that your child learns these words as they will come across them a lot in their reading books. It would be even better if your child learns how to spell these words as they will find they use them a lot in their writing.
